is pleased to announce the expansion of our roll services.
Currently, we are in the process of installing a complete machine shop within our 45,000 square foot facility. In addition to our 50 ton crane capacity, the machine tools will include a vertical boring mill, VTL lathe, a large engine lathe, pressure testing equipment, a honing machine, thermal welding equipment, and the upgrade of our 55" X 420" Farrell roll grinder. The addition of the new equipment gives SAMCO on-site capacity to perform various jobs at one location, decreasing the need for outsourcing and transportation expenses. This new equipment will enable SAMCO to recondition CC and Nipco rolls, and expand our existing suction roll and spreader roll capacity.
With the local closing of Voith Paper and J.H. Horne facilities, SAMCO will be acquiring some of their assets, along with skilled technicians with many years' experience. We are currently hiring project engineers, machinists, and CC and Nipco roll technicians. The first phase will be finished by June 1, 2005. The expansion will be complete by September, 2005.
